Data

The datasets I have built with collaborators, each with a full codebook. The documentation is free to download; for the underlying data files, write to me at clarkn@susqu.edu or use the form on the Contact page.

Eurobarometer Representation Dataset

Five decades of Eurobarometer surveys harmonized into one longitudinally consistent file, from Eurobarometer 2 (1974) through Eurobarometer 105.2 (2026): 113 waves, roughly 2.5 million respondents, covering EU institutions, membership support, identity, political knowledge, trust, economic perceptions, immigration and demographics, with a standardized composite measure of EU support. Built with Robert Rohrschneider. Full description, codebook and variable tracker.

Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation Survey Dataset

The student survey that has run alongside the Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation in Washington, D.C.: 924 responses collected between 2015 and 2020 at 13 institutions, 272 of them matched pre/post pairs, covering knowledge of the European Union, political engagement, self-assessed skills and empathy toward the figure each student played. Assembled with John Scherpereel. Full description and codebook.

Multi-Level Political Knowledge Data

What Americans know about the place they actually live, rather than about Washington: 3,171 respondents in twenty American cities across two waves (April 2022 and June 2023), answering knowledge questions written for their own city alongside parallel state and national batteries, with survey weights, demographics, media use and neighborhood measures. Built with Todd Makse. Full description and codebook.
